My business partner jokes with me that I am the 25 year old version of William Wilde. Maybe that’s not such a bad thing. Next week is the final installment of the lost Q&A. Trust us, we have saved the best for last!
Who are the great figures of style?
French cuffs or single button, straight collars or cut-away?
French cuffs, straight collars
What are the things — sartorially speaking — you wish men would not do?
Tie a hangman’s knot in their scarves, wear a Beannie hat, trainers and colourful silk waistcoats with morning suits. Then, there are more, but they are too terrible to mention.
Have you ever had a favorite suit? What was it?
A 3 piece chalk stripe Huntsmen, it fitted me so beautifully, as if I were poured into it. The pants were cut very tight, military style. The waistcoat had small lapels. As I am tall and was slim in those days, it looked fantastic. Another Huntsmen tweed jacket with unique pattern in blue and brown. That’s my favourite now.
Favorite warm weather vacation?
Dorset, Devon and Cornwall. The English Riviera, the coast. The country behind it is stunning.
Favorite royal?
Her Majesty The Queen
Piece of clothing you’ve had the longest?
1930s double breasted tan-coloured leather motoring coat. Unusually, it fits me. It’s big for the period as men were smaller. It’s getting a bit distressed now, but it is still fabulous.
Best pair of shoes you own?
George Cleverly, brown Brogues
