This past Friday, Nick Waterhouse played at the Bootleg Theater in L.A. Our west coast photojournalist, Kelly Brown, was there to capture Nick’s romantic retrospect. Back in October, Paradigm Magazine had the chance to interview Nick and here is a short excerpt of the man behind the music …

“My name is Nick Waterhouse. I was born in Santa Ana, California to a fireman and a pharmaceutical saleswoman. I grew up in Orange County, fixated on music and not on the types of things most other kids were fixated on in that era. I’ve been living in San Francisco for seven years and formulating a plan to make the kind of records I like. It’s been harder than I thought it would be when I was a teenager. I like 45′s, my girlfriend Shannon, my friends in Southern California, driving, the Pacific Ocean, American-made clothes and musical equipment, and the occasional drink.”
